The short version

MBTI Lens collects no personal data. We have no accounts, no logins, and no servers storing your information. Your personality test results and preferences are stored locally on your device and never leave it.

What we don't collect

  • No names, email addresses, or personal identifiers
  • No device fingerprinting or unique device IDs
  • No location data
  • No contacts, photos, or other device data
  • No third-party tracking pixels or advertising SDKs
  • No data is shared with or sold to third parties

Data stored on your device

MBTI Lens stores the following data in your device's local storage (localStorage):

  • Your MBTI test results and type code
  • Your first name (if you choose to enter one)
  • App preferences and settings

This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to any server. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser/app data or resetting the app.

Anonymous analytics

We use two privacy-focused analytics services:

  • Aptabase — for anonymous in-app analytics (e.g., "a test was completed")
  • Umami Cloud — for anonymous website traffic analytics (e.g., page views on this site)

Both are designed to be GDPR and CCPA compliant by default:

  • No cookies — neither service uses cookies of any kind
  • No personal data — no IP addresses, device IDs, or fingerprints are stored
  • No cross-site tracking — analytics are scoped to MBTI Lens only
  • Aggregate data only — we see anonymous event counts and page views, not individual user sessions

These analytics help us understand which features are used so we can improve the app. They cannot be used to identify any individual user.

Cookies

MBTI Lens does not use cookies. Not for analytics, not for tracking, not for anything. Period.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

MBTI Lens is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. Since we collect no personal data from any user, there is no data to protect or delete.

GDPR and CCPA compliance

MBTI Lens is compliant with GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California) by design:

  • We collect no personal data, so there is nothing to request, export, or delete
  • No consent banners are needed because no cookies or personal data collection occurs
  • Your personality data exists only on your device and is fully under your control

Third-party services

The only third-party services used are Aptabase (in-app analytics) and Umami Cloud (website analytics), both described above. No other third-party services have access to any data from the app.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Since we collect no personal data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
